I wanted to know how much yearly RSU does remitly offers to senior software engineers as yearly performance refreshers on an average, does anyone know?#remitly #engineering #software #swe

This is a weird year so I'm not sure if this will be true in future years. You've got 1) high inflation, 2) first year doing RSUs after the IPO, and 3) major decline in share price since the IPO means that a lot of people were significantly under the target TC, as their TC was calculated pre-IPO at the higher share price. So it seems people got larger-than-expected RSU grants as refreshers this year to get them back into the TC range. I got >100k in RSUs as an annual refresh this year, vesting over 2 years, but I don't expect that to happen again next year. Before IPO when it was options instead of RSUs, you typically only got an equity refresh if you were promoted, otherwise you just got adjustments to base pay at annual reviews. I would not be surprised if they go back to that next year.

Thanks for your response! That definitely helps clarify. So yearly performance based RSU were offered only to get folks back into the TC range? Or there is yearly perf based RSU but won’t be as much as they were offered this time?

That's my understanding, that it was a one-time thing to get us back to TC range, at least for the next 2 years since that's the vesting schedule. Afaik the yearly performance adjustments are only to base salary, not additional RSUs. You typically only get additional RSUs if you are promoted. At least that's how it worked before with options, I haven't heard definitively if they are treating RSUs the same way but it seems like it.

I hear it's amazon style, where they have a target comp total and only grant stock to make sure you're hitting thst comp minimum.

I'd love to know as well as in applying
