I appreciate the feedback. I Understand your point. It’s a really competitive market for top tech talent. This site has talent from all the top tech companies. Do you have a suggestion for a better approach? What is important to a top SE? How do I show that that we can provide the type of environment they are looking for?
Important things for top SWE: High TC (Base+Bonus+Stocks), Good WLB (leaves work at 4 or 5 pm), 45 mins lunch is minimum, well stocked snack area, great equipment (a big monitor and a macbook, keyboard, mouse, and headphones), company wide fun events like hackathons or fundraisers or holiday parties etc, great 401k matching, health care (vision + dental + normal) paid for, and commuter passes. The massage chair is probably not necessary. Catered food or chef on site is always nice will attract high level talent, but it's not necessary to attract descent engineers as long as you can pay them the offset of eating out and provide for flexible lunch hours.
