Got a job in NC which allow remote and travel 30% or move to SC/NC. Currently in California and planning to buy a house and settle down with family. Which option you choose and reason ? TC - 180K Option 1) Buy in CA suburbs like Mountian House, Tracy, Sacaramento ... or any other choice in CA Option 2) Buy in Fort Mill, Charlotte, raleigh, Cary or any better option in SC/NC.
No. I am in Bay Area and really want to move.
Fort Mill is full. Look at surrounding environs. I live in the country and still work remotely.
Are you staying in Fort Mill ? I can still see a lot of houses including new in the market ..
You can still buy there. But it is gridlock. I guess it depends on what you are looking for, and I shouldn't project my preferences on you. 😃
That’s fine .. can you tell me in what sense you said gridlock ? Due to more population ??
Yep. Massive influx from higher COLA. Infrastructure needs to catch up.There were news stories of schools being closed to new attendees, etc. We live north of town, off of 16. The sprawl is coming, but it's not here yet.
Is it the same case for Cary, Raleigh, Durham ? Any better choice ?
I am in a similar situation - currently working 100% remote from Cary NC. I have traveled for work before to SF, Midwest, Texas and won't move elsewhere. Granted if you are in tech salaries and opportunities are limited compared to California but overall it's a great place. Real estate though is going up in last few years but you can still find decent SFH around apex, Holly springs
I guess Raleigh is okay. Where are you from? Have you ever lived in the south?
