I work for Cisco . I am remote worker currently staying at Bay Area . Planning to change base location to Austin,TX . Does Cisco / any Bay Area based Co revise salary based on location change ? If it is then how much ? Looking for some inputs .
Generally you won’t see a reduction in actual pay but you location will be changed in the HR systems and you will Move up in the bands/MMR naturally cause the coat of living is different
Can you explain what you mean by "Move up in the bands/MMR naturally cause the coat of living is different"?
They do if the move is based on your decision not manager requirement.
Yes they do change. Bay area is top tier in paychecks. And Texas comes below that tier. So your salary is gonna change definitely even though you joined remotely.
Salary might not change if you’re still in zone 2/3, but merits will be shit and upwards career path probably more limited
So the conclusion is rent a home next to your Boss home to get promoted.
It only goes up, adjustment starts 12-24 months after relocation. Then optionally, move back to original location..
Only downwards not upwards. Moving to Bay Area from North East didn’t get any raise to say just a new lower comp ratio.

Its based on location and cost of living. Find those out and compare your current location and the destination and find a rough average
