Recently resigned at Cisco India but now feeling that my decision is not correct. Aspects... 1.Didn't consider promotion and stock grant coming in May/June while negotiating with other company. So basically other company matched current salary. New company is kind of downgrade considering Cisco as it's not one of the cool company to work for. 2.Was considering change because of management changes and job security was not there. But with changes management gave me project to lead. 3.I am working remotely and managing 2 teams without official manager position. 4.Working remotely has it's own downside. I am only 30 and there is a huge scope for personal improvement if work along with talented folks. This is not happening. 5. Cisco wise considering remote job security is still not there. Venting out to get you all experienced comments and opinions... Shall I try to negotiate with manager and see if I can stay back with Cisco provided he offers me promotion with salary hike and stock grant which is anyway coming to all employees in May/June.
You should have thought about the BEFORE resigning officially
Try to get official mgmt position at your new company and join cisco as a manager in 2 years
Too late to negotiate
Working remotely - is that your requirement or theirs ? If it is yours , own it up and stop whining
It's my requirement.
Too late, man. Also, in general, you should always be getting a significant increase in pay when you move to a new job. It’s your only chance to do so, most of the time. Raises within the same company are small compared to what you can get by switching companies. Going to a new company for the exact same salary is leaving money on the table.
Tbh it’s a good call to resign from Cisco. I say congrats! 🎉
Thanks all for your opinion. Appreciate there is no trolling on this thread.
What's your Cisco salary?
22k annual stocks means your package is 50+ at 7yoe in India . That’s Super amazing . Congrats
Resigning and asking to come back may just make you first in line to get fired later.
