Resume font for Apple

I heard from a decent amount of Apple employees that some managers turn resumes away just on the basis of the font. I don't currently use Comic Sans, it is Calibri on Word anyhow. Any tips on the font that would be more palatable? San Francisco ain't available on Word I think. Also formatting tips if you know any :-P

Helvetica obviously

But you work for Microsoft. How can I trust this take?

You out of all people should be advocating for Calibri

Wingdings, that ought to catch the eye

If your resume has good content and a readable font, nobody will actually care. If you’re spending more than 30 seconds picking a font, you’re missing the point. A “good” font can’t save a bad resume, and you’d need a particularly stupid font to ruin a “good” resume.

Are you suggesting I need a dank meme on my resume? In all seriousness: your comments are noted. I am trying to cover all bases either way

A serif font like Georgia for body text and a sans-serif font like Calibri light for headings. Use a font-pairing website to find a combination you like.

Thanks

My resume for applying Apple was a markdown file.

What a flex. I'm 23, so if you're older I wanna let you know I wanna be like you when I grow up

What important is the content. If your good even just a txt can get you an interview

Real engineers use LaTeX.

KPMG cstruggle OP Jul 24, 2019

Real Microsoft employees use Comic Sans

LOL! LaTeX is not a font. Can’t stop laughing

Ask five people what they think of your resume’s font. Based on their reaction you’ll know whether you should change it or not. For what it’s worth, I don’t even know what I use. Times New Roman maybe? I know my resume is made in Google Docs EDIT: confirmed that I am using Times New Roman. Use that it’s probably the coolest font.

If you want it you can download San Francisco Pro or New York in OTF and install it on Windows (it’s distributed for designers and developers) — and any variant of helvetica is well-regraded by designers. If you’re on Word / windows, Segoe is Microsoft’s (earlier) answer to San Francisco. It’s a pretty full-featured general purpose San-serif for these kinds of things. Will feel good in a digital PDF. Calibri is a good font (word default)— it’s just overused. Some people probably snub it.
