Resume review (transitioning from consulting to tech)
Hi All,
I am an Engagement Manager at McKinsey trying to transition to tech (focused on strategy and operations roles at FAANG for now but exploring other roles / firms too). I have been going via the referral route but getting rejected outright without even a recruiter call. Would folks who are familiar with recruiting at these firms or who have gone through it recently be able to review my resume? Thanks
YOE - 7+, 2 of which at McKinsey (worked primarily in tech) and 5 at a tech consulting firm
Top 7 MBA
Engineer (not CS) from a top UG
Current TC - ~$220k
Roles I have applied to at these firms
Google - Strategy & Ops within BUs, Sales Strategy and Operations, etc.
Facebook - Product Strategy Lead, PMM
Amazon - Product Manager (they don't have a dedicated strategy team)
Linkedin - Strategy and Operations

Also in the future, always get a referral to any company. Never apply blindly. This helps you bypass the bots.
Also, after you apply yourself (this is the case at amazon), there is no referral bonus for a after the fact referral.
