TL;DR Looking for technical developers (android/iOS UI and backend) to help with building a healthcare app for chronic diseases (focusing on cancer initially, but also applies to diabetes, etc). Problem we are trying to solve: We believe that we can do better for patients with chronic diseases. We have designed a healthcare app to bring 21st century tools and approaches to chronic disease patient management. With an initial focus on improving cancer patient outcomes, our product provides a personalized care approach targeted at patients who are tech savvy and want things at their fingertips. The problem with the status quo is that patients and their care givers have too much unstructured information that is confusing and does not allow for a call to action. Some patients have described the currently available cancer support groups as being symptomatic chat forums and brain clutter. Background of team: Previous co founders who have built and raised VC funds for medical device startup. Team has great academic credentials (think MIT/CMU) and professional pedigree (think Amazon, Airbnb, self driving cars AI startups, etc). Domain knowledge of team includes working for life sciences, big pharma and government bodies such as National Institute of Health. Current status: We have built a prototype already and are currently weeks away from completing the MVP. Looking for additional technical help to round out features in MVP and post PVP. Quick reality check is that this venture is most likely not going to become an Uber or Amazon (I see disillusioned founders routinely posting this about their idea!) and definitely not a get rich quick scheme. If you are interested in building a sensible product with a strong team that could positively impact patients' lives and rethink our healthcare system, then DM me. Logistics: Company is based in San Francisco and ideally looking for folks in bay area (remote work is ok over the next couple of months given COVID19 situation). Would request a minimum of 20 hours a week commitment so we can have good traction. #startup #hiring #jobopening
Do I need to quit my day job? I'm interested in putting time to a side project
No need to quit day job. Minimum 20 hours a week commitment to ensure we have momentum.
so, sounds like you're looking to compete with flatiron?
To the best of my knowledge, flatiron serves oncology community (think medical billing companies, clinical trial enrollment firms, etc), life science companies and researchers (academics, research labs etc). Who is serving the all important patient? We are.
what exactly is 'the all important patient'?
Just found this while browsing around blind, how’s you’re product coming along?
