I interned at Facebook 2 years ago and didn't get a return offer. Would Facebook consider me as a competitive candidate if I have demonstrated growth in my current job? Does anyone have experience with Facebook or other companies?

  • You will have to interview again, and since 2 years have passed, your internship record won't be held against you. You will be interviewed as a fresh candidate.

Why would you go to Facebook from Google?

Probably the same sorts of reasons you'd go to Google from Facebook: you don't like your manager, you're having trouble getting promoted, you just don't feel like it's a good fit…

    • He's asking because he interned at FB and FB did not give him a return offer. Internship signal >> interview signal.

But 2 years have passed. He can try again.

On a side note, how long should I wait until the next interview for the company to view you as a fresh candidate? A year? 2?

You're never truly fresh, so it depends on how you did. Close reject or unclear signal? 6 months. Used offer just to get a counter? 2-4 years.
