Obviously excluding retail and AWS, which is next? Personally, feel like healthcare has the most untapped potential.

I do think AWS is probably going to grow the most over the next couple years, but it’s already well established.

I mean as much you and I want this to happen this is something I can not fully trust interests like insurance, pharma, and Bezos to do in good faith. It will likely be some bs

I have always felt health insurance can be improved by capitalism. You have already seen most prescription drugs come way down in price in recent years. Just some competition amongst providers for basic things could be helpful. The bigger issue of hospital and long term care is a different story, but this is a start (hopefully).

Probably something else we don't know about or have much hope from. It's very hard to predict the Next Best Thing. I still remember leadership had high hopes from the phone (I know, I know) and Alexa was almost a side project. Irrespective of the question of financial success, Alexa shoved voice computing to mainstream- all of a sudden. Google followed with Assistant. Every gadget started having at least one voice interface.

Same in Kindle. At least I didn't see the success Kindle got. Apart from accelerating ebook to mainstream, it unlocked a whole world of self publishing.

Similarly, now we don't know. The only good part is that, Amazon is working on thousands of new things. Probably one of them will become the next rocketship. We just don't know which one.

Man, the fire phone was the way of the future! But yeah you’re right, just curious to see what it is going to be. It doesn’t have to be as big as retail/AWS, but it’s gotta be industry leading. Like Facebook has instagram and WhatsApp (or they had, idk if it still counts)

I do not think it's a good idea to look at Retail or AWS as single entities. There are suites of products and categories within each of them- which are their own distinct markets themselves. For example Pets, Fashion, furniture, grocery - although part of big retail- but essentially are very different industries with different use cases, competitors, and economics. Trader Joe's does not think it's in the same business as Home Depot.

For every Whatsapp, Amazon has an Audible (probably economics are better at Audible); for every Instagram, there is a Twitch.
