What kind of offer (base, bonus equity) to expect in Fintech startup? Series C with funding of around 300M and evaluation of 3B+?
Position - VP (tech, engineering).

Any caveats in startup offer that can be a pain later?

TC 800K to 1M.

250-300 base. 1-1.5 equity. unless they are already touching 1bn they wonโ€™t beat your current TC. and if they are 1bn the equity will be less so as to balance and still you wonโ€™t hit TC. they need to be 1bn now and you needed to have joined at series A.

go for it but assume TC halving

Probably wonโ€™t beat your TC, if so most of it will be paper money

Is paper money still risky in series c? How much extra paper money can I ask to sign up for the risk of joining compared to what I'd give up?

Depends on how close are you to the exit. If economy takes a turn then how much of a hit will you take compared to your Adobe equity. Not sure about you, but I would be ok with 20% premium for the additional risk. With 3B valuation, VP should be able to get about 0.1% equity, which along with base would beat low end of your current comp.
