Are you investing in Rivian IPO? $62 a share $55B valuation.
Steer clear
Rivian, Lucid, and especially all the other me-too EVs have NO product. Prototypes are not mass produced and reliable vehicles. The product of a car company is really the advanced factory tech that makes good cars. They are where Tesla was back in 2008! with the roadster. Musk said by far the toughest part of Teslas entire existence was scaling up Model 3 production. That is, going from already producing thousands of desirable cars, to then 100x’ing production of huge PHYSICAL goods. Steer clear until they’re worth less than $5b or are shipping boatloads defect free from giant factories. If not, well then I have a promising AI startup for you to invest in, my Django prototype is the shit, you can get in now for just $10b, it’s gonna be the next Google 👌 Also, Nikola 😂
This. Even teslas still have production issues, imagine how long it will take for Rivian to scale let alone sell their first vehicles
Rational advice but as we all know, many many moronic “retail investors” (a.k.a Robinhood amateurs) will disagree with you and keep inflating the stock price for god knows how long.
Yeah but not much a 1,000 or less because is very high risk they can’t compete with Tesla yet
I will buy if they drop below IPO price. Hold for the long haul so they can achieve economies of scale and eventually make a profit
Wait for employee dump after lockup
When does lockup expire?
6 months from the ipo date.
Better build quality than Tesla
Ah yes, only invest after they have proven to build cars for the masses and ONLY if the stock price is still low then. This is how all the comments sound like. Have fun staying poor!
Lol too true
I recommend you all to check out the way back machine to dig on Tesla sentiment back in 2017- 2018. You could very easily find these kind of hate. Look at where they are now. Looking at Rivian I see the same thing today. Just a reminder, history really repeats itself.
The valuation is based on technology and addressable market segment. It's Nokia story for regular car makers to adopt to a smart phone era. Ev technology transition is happening. It's technology that will drive future car market as manufacturing of EV is relatively easier than manufacturing ICE with transmission.. who ever adopts early will win. Rivian is ahead in truck space. They are ramping up and will grow at much faster pace after IPO. Rivian is going to be company to look to become 2nd to Tesla. Pure EV brand has more value than traditional car makers..
Totally agree. Nokia cannot be a second Apple. Just like GM/Ford cannot be a second Tesla.
