Infosys has a high attrition rate of 22%. Does this mean that Infosys is a meat grinder, a shitty place to work at?

It’s like a boat where one person will be rowing it but there will be 10 people who tell how to row the boat!!

One developer in a team will have a PM, account manager, delivery manager, qa, Business unit manager, blah blah blah.

Here’s my full story: Accepted offer, took a 2 month poorly run training class on recent technologies used in web dev. After that, they called me up for support roles for 8 months and I declined saying I wanted a dev role. Finally get offered a dev role at Verizon so I accept.

The first project I got put on at Verizon was a simple support project that was historically maintained by one person. When I got on, they put me on a team with 5 people, but since the project was only meant to support one dev working on it, I ended up being that dev, while the others just did who knows what. That was a heavenly wlb, I went to the office whenever I felt like it and set my own schedule. This went on for about 8 months.

Then they moved me onto a different project with a more recent tech stack and a different manager and a team that was more involved with the project. I lasted 4 weeks on that team and quit without having another offer lined up. Some really nasty office politics took place to move me from my past project to the new one and the wlb I enjoyed before disappeared completely. Funny thing is if they were just transparent with me, I might’ve actually been ok with the new project as the tech stack was more interesting.

Ashburn Office. Also, ComTruise, the place I was sitting at didn’t have anyone from my team there. So being at the office and working from home was exactly the same. Also, rather then getting laid off they promoted me during the performance review.

I thought this was in WA since we have some Tmobile buildings a stone's throw from a Verizon building then Infosys is across the street.
