Hi all, I'm looking to change careers from hardware to software engineering and would appreciate any help getting started.

About me: I graduated from a top 10 school with a Master's in EECS about 4 years ago and have been working in hardware design since. The direction the hardware industry is going concerns me, in particular the rapid consolidation and commoditization of products, so I would like to move to software to expose myself to more opportunities to continuously learn, grow and challenge myself. Over the past few months I have read through DDIA, completed the Blind75 + ~150 other LC questions, and worked through Princeton's Algorithms 1 and 2 on Coursera as well as MIT's Distributed Systems course (6.824). I'm feeling ready to make the switch now and want to give myself the best chance of getting my foot in the door.

Please let me know if you could refer me to any of the following companies, or others that you think would be great to get a start in large scale backend/distributed systems (has to be near Boston). Thanks!
