Roblox offer: IC4 TC 505k. Take it or stay at Apple?
Got numbers today, and I like them, but I’d like to crowdsource my decision a little since I have a good thing going on at apple. So my hesitance is more around knowing my current team, and not knowing what I’m going into (I’ve got a good sense thru interviews but that only goes so far).
Now the numbers:
At Apple (w/stock appreciation): ICT4, tc in 2022 450k, 390k in 2023 and after due to initial grant cliff.
At Roblox, IC4, tc in 2022 505k, and roughy add 50-60k increase per year due to refreshers, to hit 700-750k tc in 2026.
Numbers are much better if I look at the next 4 years instead of just one.
I also think that nothing guarantees my current good situation at apple will stay this way forever. Conversely, Roblox may go x4 or tank if Facebook starts copying Avery thing like they did with Snapchat.
I need the crowds opinions and votes!
FYI, the Roblox breakdown is roughly:
Base 267k
RSU 950k
Sign on 0
Looks high end of IC4, but anybody think I can get better numbers?

I had extended conversation with some roblox employees about plans and gonna interview there in 2 weeks
Both 2 outcomes could also be preceded by then try to buy Roblox, which might be good for Roblox stock holders.
I think the economics just makes sense for going to Roblox, and the projects seem interesting. But how much does that outweighs how comfortable in right now at apple? That’s the question I’m troubled with
How was the interview process?
And yoe?
You need to apply your outside of work life situation and see how it fits with Roblox then decide. Great offer, congratulations!
If I was not at apple, and got these 2 offers, I would have no doubts, Roblox.
But as you say, I have a good status in my team, which lets me coast or push hard whenever I “want” to. And honestly I’m not underpaid inside apple. My life out of work is also very ergonomically arranged to fit my work location (not super important now though).
Going to Roblox will cause some friction no doubt :) but can I alleviate that initial friction throwing money at it?
