I am evaluating offers from both companies. Money is roughly the same but the companies' cultures are vastly different. What would you choose if you are optimizing for happiness and not for money? UPD: 1. Like I said the TC is not what makes the difference in my decision. I purposefully want to keep money out of the equation. 2. No, I am not a troll, everybody who works/worked at FB is saying how stressful it is/was. Hence the question. 3. The role is sr/staff eng in both
Roku. Come over. Don’t be evil :) Honestly though I don’t personally know fb culture. But here the culture is great.
I’ll be the bad person here. TC or GTFO OP!
TC or door is that way _/_
Tc
Troll? Facebook >> Roku all day everyday. Facebook is a good well known prestigious company while Roku is a step above a nobody.
TC plz. Give back !
Life >> money. Even more so after you get more senior. Grow up, my friend!
Roku, isn't this obvious ? Wonder why people are still considering FB
Can you elaborate?
Why do u want to work with the pressure of PIP. Also Roku has good culture and their average developer age is close to 40s. So you get to learn from the seniors and also don't have to deal with 20 somethings who dedicate their lives and spoil the work culture
The division or group matter within each company. Do you know which ones you will be at? How were the hiring managers?
The way it works is that FB hires into the company so you won't know the team until much later after you join the company. At Roku I did talk to the team. I liked the manager and team is also OK. And I know what I will be doing and this is what I want to do.
Roku has good culture. Join Roku
Facebook.
Did you work there? liked it? Or are you just going by the name?
Start there in January. Roku might be fun for a short period of time but very few problems to solve bc if their business model and they aren’t innovating on much. I have lots of friends at FB and they all enjoy it.
You need to give more info than just this. What role and TC?
