Anyone have recommendations for making a career pivot to UX? I’ve been in product marketing my entire career and have dreamed of switching for years.
I know there are tons of programs like General Assembly and other uni development programs I can take but I am skeptical to invest the time and $$...anyone have experience taking those programs and making a career pivot, whether UX or another field

1. Talk to good designers in the field - get mentorship. It's free.
2. Make a portfolio
3. Get industry / real world experience - it beats concept projects/redesigns
4. Don't enrol for a GA/whatever class. They only teach execution. You already have product experience. Leverage it.
Yeah I think my biggest question is around whether those programs are worth the money and what the perception of completing those is. I was thinking GA or other classes for structured learning of concepts and a “certification” at the end.
