I like the sarcasm here by newtc-435. Glad about New to get a 280k offer with a take-home assignment.
Quick tip- Researching about interview process would help while bluffing.

Itโ€™s only in blind where people are obsessed with artificial bars based on how fast you can solve competitive programming trivias. I work in Europe where LC is hardly used and yet Iโ€™ve worked with extremely talented people. For someone to think theyโ€™re less talented because theyโ€™re not subjected to the ridiculous gauntlet of LC is ridiculous. Over half the whole industry relies on AWS and what people care about is the interview process because itโ€™s not as stupid as others.

I interviewed at Meta and I found it robotic. No one cares what youโ€™ve done in the past just how fast you can solve an expression tree or reverse a linked list. And thatโ€™s what you call a bar? Google was somewhat better, but no way on earth Iโ€™m waiting to be subjected to the team matching and then lowballed when I have other offers at hand.

I interviewed with mid tiers like Hashicorps and Elastisch Search and the interviews were similar but easier than Amazon mainly because it didnโ€™t have the long onsites and so many LPs, you think their bar is lower because they donโ€™t interview like FAANGs? โ€ฆ just get out of your bubble guys. A whole world exists outside it.

There are plenty of companies who interview without LC with a higher bar than Amazon (Figma, Confluent, Stripe).

Iโ€™m just trying to objectively rank the difficulty of the interview (not speaking about the quality of engineers). Letโ€™s not forget there is no LC interview for people who work at R&D at most of these companies and arguably make the most impact.

Rule of thumb: use Amazon offer only to negotiate offers from other companies but never ever take it

I think most complaints on Blind are from the bottom 25% who shouldnโ€™t be working for Amazon (or any other high bar tech company) anyway.

I took a 60% raise when I joined and have been very happy with my time at Amazon.
