Any body here from Morgan Stanley - They reached out about a Executive Director in the analytics / data space. Wanted to get a sense of how the work culture is?

In terms of reporting do Directors report to Executive Director ? Heard they recently acquired ETrade. Is there a lot of reorg going on ?

What could be an expected comp range?

  • I was an ED with MS for many years. Good luck getting anywhere close to your current TC. Even if you do, you will be in the top of the list for yearly firing rounds.

Well if you are coming from tech companies … stay away … TC will definitely be lower and bureaucracy here is high … so slow innovation and execution

Thank you this is extremely helpful. I am in a small quant fund. Was thinking maybe there would be more scope for innovation and growth at MS. But seems like that is not the case.

  • You are close to making MD level $$ today. Why switch and take a pay cut?

Did not have a sense of the levels. So ED range is typically lower ? 350-450 ?

Work for a small quant fund. Getting tired of the pace and innovation. Looking at opportunities to learn and grow. Seems like MS might be more process oriented and slow based on the comments.
