Anyone spoken to someone at Rubrik and knows how it is like to work there? What about compensation? it’s Palo Alto
It’s pretty hectic but (for most teams I know) the work is really interesting and challenging. The engineers are usually very experienced and because of the smaller size of the company, you get more time with experienced engineers. As for comp, base is likely higher than Big 4. Stock value is highly dependent on appreciation on IPO. That’s one of the bigger negatives IMO. I have heard that WLB depends on you so some people tend to have normal hours. Most don’t though from what I’ve seen. Attrition is relatively low compared to other startups just from what I’ve seen. We do still have relatively high attrition as people want to work hard and vest then leave to coast at other, larger companies. I don’t think this is particularly unusual though.
Thanks knowbody. So you recommend joining Rubrik? Comp should be enough to comfortably sustain in Cali then. Do they allow work from home sometimes ? And how’s the office like ?
Unlimited PTO. You can WFH as much as you want as long as you and your manager are on the same page. I definitely recommend joining if you’d like working on hard problems with some great engineers (at least from what I’ve seen). We had a really high hiring bar early on. It’s dropped a bit now unfortunately especially with new grads. Office is nice, got a pond, lots of greenery. We’re in cloudera’s old office before they moved into a campus if that helps.
