As things sort of fall apart at the seams around me at work, I'm seriously thinking of starting a retreat center in Colombia where my dad is from and building that up. Should I start this, or continue going on interviews with tech companies and keep getting rejected because my skills don't seem to fit in their boxes, or get a job at a company I don't care about? The opportunity is arising for me to work remotely for a month, as my boss is on maternity leave and her boss reports directly to Elon and is therefore too busy to know I exist. Should I up and go to Colombia? It won't be as profitable as working in SF at a tech company.
My biz dev friend moved to Bogotá and has been working in tech down there and loving it
I also have heard that there is an effort to support the growing tech community in Bogata
Go. To. Colombia. You clearly want to.
Do it!
Yup, do it. Every time I work abroad for a few weeks, it allows me to recognize what really matters (at work and at home). The change of scenery (and the unreliable internet) helps with perspective.
Do it... I spent 2 months in Columbia... I would Recommend Medellin.
yeah my family is from Medellín, I already have a location in mind, it will just be super challenging and I don't even know if there is a market for this... very nervous to take the leap
solamente un poquito... pero estoy aprendido con una maestra privada desde hace 2 semanas
Create your own market, be a trailblazer. Why would you want to wait for someone to come along and then be a part of it?
stocks vested yet?
Colombia is cool! Visited Bogota, Santa Marta, and Cartagena.
That sounds amazing. Do it!
