I was given a graph problem and implementing 4 functions around it like add, delete, serialize, edit. Its quite a big problem to solve, you have to be quick to finish it in 2 hours and be able to clean up and test it.

@salesforce, NDA was for the onsite to not reveal the things I learn about salesforce during interview, nothing to do with the rpt test I got before the onsite.

  • It's a 2 hour test where you're asked to code a solution to a problem. Typically done in Java but can be in your language of choice.

Story of my life. This has happened MULTIPLE times where I will engage in hour long phone conversations with hiring managers only to find out that I am not a skills match. It does upset me - why the fuck don't they just read my resume ? It's short and easy to read. Take a minute to peruse my detailed LinkedIn profile !

Well several, let me name some : Facebook, CoreOS, Couchbase, Google, Nutanix, Twitter, Apple. Uber and Nvidia recruiters are sitting in my LinkedIn inMail as we speak. I broke down and said yes to Nvidia. Next step - chat with Nvidia Hiring Manager - and I declined. I re-read the Nvidia job description - sure enough I am 60% a match but not more. I declined. I just don't have the luxury of free time enabling me to have these hour long pointless conversations with hiring managers. It's surprising that THEY have the time to do this ! But they are willing to spend the time in hopes of finding THE PERFECT candidate I suppose. Most of the time I never hear back, Couchbase and Apple were at least kind enough to send me reject emails. Maybe I am just an awesome resume/LI Profile writer - but once they talk to me they realize that I lack some skill they require. I will say this - my resume/LI don't exaggerate my skills. I don't understand why Hiring Managers just don't spend 5 minutes to read them so that we can each save that precious hour.

True. Rejecting a candidate without a phone screen is waste of candidates time. I am not too good in solving Algo questions, but this method is fair. I think those managers already hired the candidate of their chose but they still want to talk just to show that they rejected n number of candidates before they got final one. This data is probably tracked by upper management. Getting job these days is competitive and like a jackpot
