I got news from my #dropbox interview that feedback is good and they plan on extending an offer but I haven’t heard back from #coinbase #paloaltonetworks or #linkedin even though I interviewed with them earlier. Overall I felt my interview was consistent between all 4 companies Do they just take longer or is this pointing to a rejection? I really liked the Dropbox team the best but I worry about their stagnant stock performance, and also about career progression since the company is smaller, am I overthinking this? Is this LinkedIn? What’s with all these hashtags damn
It notifies people at those companies who may be able to provide reliable info
When was ur interview with coinbase? I am also in same boat
It was in the middle of last week
Same boat and almost similar time. Let me know if you get any update.
Genuinely asking because I’m interested in a role at Dropbox, what do people think about its future? As someone who doesn’t pay attention to stocks as much, it seems like Google Drive is the go-to for many people now?
They're expanding their product offering to more than just cloud storage. Their recent stock performance is a reflection of mostly this one legacy product and though it isn't 🚀 it is rising slowly even in the face of competitors like MS and G which isn't an easy task. And MS and G grow their storage user base almost by default because they are given Drive and OneDrive as a concession when using their other products. Dropbox relies on more organic growth. Also people tend to judge them by this one product vs taking into account how their layoffs were necessary to better position themselves for expansion into improving a user's entire workflow, how many ex-FAANGers continue to come onboard, how they pay top of market, are virtual first, and are known for their WLB. The fact that they can catch the attention of someone from Apple speaks volumes and means they're doing something right. You just need to ask yourself whether or not you believe in their next gen products.
Thanks for the insight, appreciate it. One follow-up question/thought I have is even if Dropbox relies on more organic growth, wouldn’t that be irrelevant if they continue to lose users to big tech?
