SAP green card policy

Graduated from Purdue University, from Sri Lanka, do I need to wait for H1b first, or can I start my green card process after six months ? Do the rules vary from team to team ?

I believe you are on f1 visa then .. You can't start green card process on that .. Either L1 or H1b

Yes you can. And you can get it. It’s up to your lawyers if they want to do that though. Bunch of ppl at Amazon I know who got GC during their year 1

Actually you can apply for green card when you are on f1. My friends at Amazon have started their process. Just wanted to know what is SAP policy.

As per policy, you become eligible after 6 months of joining. The policy is on the portal. Talk to your manager if you have been with the company > 6 months.

I thought they start processing only after 1 year to be on the safe side?

How much time on opt you have? You need at least 1 y pocketed for GC specifically if they do not have shared recruitment openings for your role. + potential audit + process is slower now vs what it’s used to be. So really better to have 18m. This earlier is better - talk to your manager ab starting right away.

+1 for the question. To my understanding, non-SAP companies seem to let F1s get GC on their first year. SAP has a policy that seems to force F1s to go to H1B first and then GC. Am I correct?

Hey OP, did you figure it out?
