SDET vs Network Test Engineer

Hi Everyone, I have an offer from Akamai for Software Development Engineer in Test II role. As well as I have an onsite interview next week with Google for Network Test Engineer position. I personally enjoy doing programming and want to move to Development. Should I take up SDET role or consider Network Test Engineer role because it’s Google? Considering my career path which role has good growth? Please provide your valuable suggestions. YoE: 2

NTE at Google has little to no coding involvement. If you want to move to Dev, Sdet is a better option

Akamai Pros: They will allow role change after a year or two though most people I have seen change role after 3-4 years. you will be exposed to cpp code and developer interaction from day one. The developers are top notch and you will learn a lot. Note: Most like you will learn Perl/Python as your main job and CPP programming on your own on the side. Akamai cons: Tier 2 Pay. Very slow Promotions. Immigration/GC moves at a snails pace and they dont file GC unless you become a Senior. Expect a 3-5 year wait for GC processing from day of joining.
