Current role: Eng manager (remote, HCOL) Current TC: ~350K (204K + 146K options) at a pre-revenue startup Offer role: Eng manager (remote, HCOL) Offer TC: ~465K (253K + 212K options) at a pre-IPO startup (fintech) YOE: 8 total (full-stack SWE), 2yr management exp Job hunting as manager is extremely stressful (can't just be late on projects, have to constantly be dodging conversations and meetings). Should I just take the job? This seems like a great offer to me and I don't know if its going to be worth stalling and looking for other offers while keeping the old job. Company seems to have a good culture and wlb. #fintech #startups
ππ» thank you blind ππ» I think its clear what I should do!!
It's hard to say without a forecast on the ipo multiplier, but 253k base are solid and 465k for 8 yoe pretty good. If the culture and wlb is fine, what do you want more?
I agree. At times I find it unbelievable that I am here making this decision considering what my TC was just a few years ago (π₯)
Mind sharing the startup? I can DM if thats fine with you. I am currently interviewing for remote opportunities as well.
Mind sharing the fintech? May I DM you?

Asians - what are your thoughts on asian female white male ?
Based on TC alone this seems worth it. Do you know how WLB will be ? Does it matter to you at this stage of your life?
It does matter (not looking to coast but I'm not in my 20s and care about spending time with family), and glassdoor/blind seem to indicate good WLB at the new company.
Ok in that case with TC and WLB both covered seems like a good move to make.
