Hi Team Blind. Could anyone help me evaluate this offer from Comcast?

Sr. Director position
Base $179k
Bonus target $45K
Yearly RSU is discretionary but not in the offer letter

  • That's a modest offer. There are some downsides though - bonus is unsure, 401k matches will be given only after completing 2 years of employment. This is a pretty big deal too. Vesting is bad - 15% for 4 years and 40% for 5th. Learning curve isn't great. Too much politics, and time will pass by when you'll be made to think that your contributions are valuable and then sudden realisation that it was all a leadership game and employee made actors.

    • Oh, I meant 401k match gets VESTED only after two years. It keeps accumulating after 90 days of employment. So if you were to leave the company before completing two years of employment, all the match disappears in thin air. You get to keep only your contributions.

    Seems super low to me. I was making $171k base with 11 YOE in Seattleโ€”non tech role.

    I am currently a Senior director non-tech with $230k base. I would say negotiate hard. Finding good talent is tough so the compensation ought to reflect that.
