Hi Team Blind. Could anyone help me evaluate this offer from Comcast? Sr. Director position Base $179k Bonus target $45K Yearly RSU is discretionary but not in the offer letter #telecom #offer #comcast #tech
Philly
This sounds about right for Philly for that level in Comcast, though you might be able to negotiate just a tad higher on base and maybe a small reloc bonus, assuming you are relocating. Your dollars will go a much longer way, but if you want to leave Comcast it won't be easy to find something comparable in Philly.
You can live really well in philly or the suburbs on that. Don’t know your background but you could prob get more for sr director
Base should probably be a bit higher. Bonus looks ok.
Thanks. I felt the base could be a bit higher too.
You won't be getting the bonus any time soon, there's a freeze on bonuses, promotions, and raises.
Low-ball. You also don't get any bonuses for the next year
YOE ? tech or no tech ? I think that’s their range . These companies don’t usually go beyond pay range like tech companies. Get exact RSU range . May be 3 yr vesting period . Other benefits are good at Comcast. Good deal for philly
YoE 10+ and non tech
I would happily take it. Work life balance in these companies on business side usually very good. Plus you will have direct reports I guess . What else you want ?
That's a modest offer. There are some downsides though - bonus is unsure, 401k matches will be given only after completing 2 years of employment. This is a pretty big deal too. Vesting is bad - 15% for 4 years and 40% for 5th. Learning curve isn't great. Too much politics, and time will pass by when you'll be made to think that your contributions are valuable and then sudden realisation that it was all a leadership game and employee made actors.
That's like Charter to a T. Except it takes 3 years to vest and get those 401k employer matches... but we've got it all - politics, sloppy code... you name it!
What do you mean 401k match only after 2 years. I was just hired <1 yr and have 401k match after 90 days I think
