I made the mistake of moving to SEA for no income tax. It's such a depressing city during winter. I miss San Francisco. SF is truly an amazing city. I miss the natural beauty, Golden gate bridge, mountains, 12 month sunshine. Moving back next month. Miss you SF! God bless California 🙏 TC: $230k, 2 YOE
I would never move to Seattle solely because of the gray. Can't do it. SF is as as grey as I'm willing to do.
plus they added income tax back in 2019 (some paychecks call it family leave tax) SF is a literal shithole tho, go anywhere else
Some people can't handle it. Others grow to appreciate the gray raininess. Some even come to depend on it.
Been here 15 years. I neither appreciate it nor depend on it. Tolerate is probably the better word. Though I'm not much of a fan of SF either. I miss LA.
Agreed. Weather in NW is depressing as hell
The days around winter solstice are the worst☹️
SF is a shithole. Seattle isn’t good either. The east side of the lake is different. Very high quality especially Sammamish and Issaquah
SF is not an amazing city, but between SF and Seattle it’s the clear winner. If SF had different government it could be incredible. There are some people that grew up with the constant grey/rain and are unaffected by it in Seattle though.
Have you considered Austin?
income tax never is the first reason to be in SEA rather SF. House price is.
I am just 2 years out of school. I can afford a condo with my income in SF :). House is likely another 4-5 years away. With FB/G TC it's def. possible.
Income tax was the main reason for me to move to Seattle more than a few ago. No regrets
