I just paid 200 for first and last month dues and 460 for 4 sessions with a trainer. Am I dumb to think is reasonable? Edit: it's fitness SF and I'm already a year into powerlifting and basically want a proper gym with platforms/racks.
Sounds reasonable. Equinox? And you don’t need a trainer. Just do StrongLifts 5x5 program and you will bench 315 in no time.
You need a trainer if you’re average at physical coordination and have to learn to do those lifts
It's fitness SF. Well I do gzcl for linear progression and my bench is 185. Deadlift is 325 and squat is 215. I thought the trainer was good to have in person you know? He had decent form pointers and seemed to understand biomechanics to have as an coach. Do you suggest an online coach?
People are usually more motivated to value stuff they pay for. If that helps you go to the gym consistently and get healthy, does it feel like a good investment? There are any number of options from free workouts at home or the park up to expensive personal trainers and fancy gym amenities. It really depends on what you value.
If it helps you because you are new, or if it motivates you, go for it. I think having a good teacher early on will build the correct movements and habits for you so you can continue on your own later.
you can ditch the trainer in no time. do 5x5 bench, squat, Deadlift, ohp and some cardio on the other days. I like running or spinning
35$/month gym near my house, not the best gym but has everything that is required
Sounds like you’re more serious than I am. I started lifting last year and am up to 185 bench, 215 squat and 250 deadlift. (5*5). I just workout at the Google gym without a trainer for free but I am not interested in competing so maybe you need to spend that much.
I'm hoping to compete next year but man we have similar numbers and I'm surprised how much progress can be made in year. I'm worried about imbalances though I don't have abs haha
Also I used to just go to my apt gym but figured I'll find something nicer this year haha
I've been using fitness SF for a few years now, and it's worth the money. I don't use a trainer, but 100 for a full gym pass is a pretty sweet deal.
Equinox is 300 without employer discount
Idk about the personal trainer, but my bay club dues are $215/m plus there was like a $400 initiation fee
Wow haha
