SHOOTING OUTSIDE THE OFFICE: But Credit Karma still prioritizes RTO over employee safety!!

First, they moved the office to a dangerous neighborhood where many women don’t feel safe, especially when we’re going home at night and it’s dark outside. Then, they forced us to Return to the Office and made us choose between risking our jobs or risking our lives. Now, we’re dealing with more Violent Crime in Oakland than ever before. And today it hit close to home with the shooting right outside our building!! Credit Karma’s leadership pretends like they care about about us, but how can they say that when they put our lives in danger every week. Today’s shooting was no surprise. It was inevitable with the rise in violent crime in Oakland, and it will most certainly happen again. Someone was killed today. What if next time it’s a Credit Karma employee? No ones safe anymore, and Credit Karma certainly can’t protect us from the DANGER THEY PUT US IN JUST TO PUSH THERE RTO AGENDA!! It’s fine and dandy that they have building security, but how are they supposed to keep us safe when we’re going in and out of the office? Are they going to escort all 1,700 employees every morning and every night? How long will that last? Security’s not even there at night unless you leave before 5. And what about lunch? Now that they cancelled Eat Club, many of us have no choice but to order from nearby restaurants. In fact, Colleen even used those restaurants as a talking point to convince why the new building is in such a great spot lmao. But this shooting happened in broad daylight right outside our building at a time when many of us going out for lunch. How are we ever supposed to feel safe again eating at work? Good for you if you pack your own lunch, but some of us don’t have time for that and shouldn’t be forced to. The worst part is security didn’t even know what was going on. It was a random employee who told everyone about a Citizen app alert he got. But even then security still didn’t give us any safety instructions or even assure that we were safe inside the building until an hour after it happened. What if next time it happens inside our building? There are no locks on the door. And the unarmed security guards don’t exactly inspire a lot of confidence when it comes to stopping someone with a gun from shooting up the office. The shooter could easily take their employee badge and go upstairs to the floors where we work. It’s not that farfetched. I hate to say it but shootings like this are bound to happen again near the office. What really bothers me is this isn’t even the first time something like this has happened. Asian women have been targeted and assaulted in Oakland for the last two years!! Still Credit Karma prioritizes their RTO policy over our lives and keeping us safe smh 🤦🏻‍♀️

I know, but at least most companies don’t pretend to. I can’t stand the two-faced hypocrisy from CK’s leadership! Especially Colleen and Susannah. I get why most of the men in leadership don’t think about it, but as women you’d think they would understand the dangers we face. But instead they always talk about how nice and safe of the neighborhood is.

Not sure how much truth there is to it, but I’ve heard rumors that Ken an Colleen are secretly big 2nd amendment Gun rights type of people who sometimes go to shooting ranges together. So it make sense why they would want to keep Oakland’s gun violence on the downlow.

LMAO gun violence and 2nd amendment unconnected. Among high income countries, US rate of gun violence is 3x the next worst (Chile) and getting worse every year. Most of these countries do allow people to own guns but the qualifications needed are much more stringent because they don't have to deal with the nonsensical gun nut interpretations of the second amendment. So no. Not unconnected topics.

Then stop complaining and if Ken and coleen are realy 2A Gun supporters like you say which im not so sure about than you have nothin to worry about because they can protect the office if a shooter ever break in
