Hi I need advice on how to navigate this issue. I have recently gotten a job offer for CSE role at aws (I would be relocating to a different country for the role). I have 5 job experiences listed on my resume. However I have 2 half truths on the earliest experiences at the beginning of my career. To be honest it has been this way for a longtime had not paid attention to it. And totally unnecessary.

1. I was recruited by an outsourcing firm XXXX to work for a large firm YYYY as an outsourced staff. My payslips and contract letter are from YYYY. On my resume it is listed that I worked for XXXX for the duration. The evidence I have showing my affiliation to XXXX are training certificates signed by the global HR for XXXX. The background check company requires contract letter or payslips as evidence.

2. I have volunteer experience on a project with another large company ZZZZ in my home country listed as ZZZZ(contract) on my resume. I only have a contactable reference (the project lead for ZZZZ at the time) as evidence.

All other information is accurate without any exaggerations.

How do I navigate this issue. I am already at the point of processing my visa.
Is my offer toast?
Any possibility of salvaging the situation?
I have not been sent the link for work experience verification yet. Over sight from the recruiter i suspect but its coming soon i am sure.

  • it's probably fine - you're overthinking it. just tell them exactly what you have. you didn't lie - you just don't have all the right paperwork to back it up. volunteer experience I wouldn't worry about it and working as a contractor is pretty normal.

Hi guys thanks for the responses so far.

I am sorry I made an error in the initial post.

On my resume it is listed that I worked for YYYY for the duration. The evidence I have showing my affiliation to YYYY are training certificates signed by the global HR for YYYY. Thanks for your response. Would you suggest I contact my recruiter or just make the adjustments when filling the employment verification forms with Accurate Background.

Why not both? I don't think you have much to lose given you already got an offer. Past employment isn't really relevant for the hiring decision (although it does affect how you get to that point)

Lmao, you're not the first one to have an issue like this.

Background check companies are assholes. No way around it. End result is they gather as much as they can and report it to your employment.

Your employment is the one who cares, not them.

Let your employer know "I am having a hard time getting this information" they will most likely understand and you will be hired regardless.

In other words. Nobody is worried about this except you and some guy named Oleg at the BG company who wants to ask for things you can't provide.
