A recession is defined as 2 financial quarters of declining GDP. Some countries are already in a recession based on that figure.
On the other hand, now having lived through ‘01, ‘08, and now ‘20, saving really doesn’t help. You might as well just enjoy your life. Every generation after the Boomers will die penniless due to how the Boomers have ruined our world economy.

You have to also include inflation rates as part of that 350% you're referring to if you haven't already. Buying power is something that should be comsidered when looking at money. I think when it comes to assets, pur buying power based off of wages on average haven't kept up leading to things such as the housing market in high cost areas where few are able to own depsite what would traditionally be considered good wages. I'm not sure if I went off topic lol

This is why timing the market should be done in years, not days. There is a cycle every decade.

Recessions are often self-fulfilling prophecies. If enough people believe we’re going into a recession and reduce their spending, that will *cause* a recession. It’s obviously impossible for anyone who doesn’t know your personal situation well to comment what *you* should do - but the best thing for our economy is for everyone, on average, to continue spending a reasonable amount, not to start saving aggressively.

You should spend your money on a bicycle, exercise equipment, art projects. When I studied the Great Depression in college, one thing people need is a form of entertainment. Also, for stronger to support weaker. If your ok, why not pay your hairdresser for the haircut you would have got? Give larger tips to workers. Support your village to the extent possible. Spend your money wisely and put some away.
