Sophomore in college, so full time return offer isn't a concern. Want to maximize callbacks for next year. Already experienced NYC and will be in SF for the fall with a startup. Don't yet know team or project for either. Bloomberg in NYC, Amazon probably in Seattle but other locations possible. Would be cool to live in Seattle for first time. Keep in mind Amazon hiring bar for intern/new grad seems relatively low. Bloomberg TC: 8300/mo + corporate housing + 2k relocation Amazon TC: 7650 (-300 or -500 for housing)/mo + flights covered
I've chosen Bloomberg over Amazon for full time, but for an internship - go for Amazon. It's not only about the company, but also the location and a new social circle. Seattle is a cool place to be is summer.
The people I met working at Bloomberg were extensively using proprietary technologies and C++. Basically, 5 years there and you are stuck there or other financial companies. Obviously this is a bit of a hyperbole but there is truth to it.
Sent DM to both of you.
Hey curious wen r u joining Bloomberg and which team
Me? In September and I don't know the team yet
My advice since I work in Bloomberg it's a good company but u have to see which team u are getting in. That is a huge factor. Try and find out what the team is working on and if it's legacy or propirety then stay away from that team
You have another opportunity to do an internship. So Brand wise Amazon may provide better opportunities in the near future. Although the entry level / intern hiring bar for Amazon has gone down drastically over the years, so I would expect better intern talent at Bloomberg.
Bad project @ BB < Bad project @ amzn < good project at @ amzn or BB
It depends on what u like doing. Kikowi and OP do u like c++ or python or jvm based languages?
Sent you a DM.
Had a great experience interning at Bloomberg in nyc. Would recommend it over Amazon.
Good to hear that. What team did u intern with
I was in one of the teams building application and handling News data. I don’t think the team matters that much for internship. People at Bloomberg really try to give interns a great experience and a fun time. So regardless which team you are in, you’ll have some project to brag about on your resume and in your full time interviews.
Good luck man. I am a Senior hire here and my experience so far has been good

My Indian friends, why some of you want to go back to India?
Bloomberg engineering isn't good at all. Amazon over Bloomberg all the way
