Hello. Firstly, I'm really grateful to be in this position, I've actually never been in this position before of having the luxury to choose between offers, so I really hope this doesn't come across as a "flex" at all, honestly just been very fortunate. Would you guys reccommend an internship at Twitter, or Facebook? I can only choose one because I'm graduating soon and I don't believe either will allow me to do an internship after graduating. Also, I'm located in Toronto, does anyone know if Twitter allows full remote from Toronto? I know FB does now, which is a big plus. Also, does anyone by chance know how much facebook/twitter would pay a newgrad based in Toronto? Not sure how salary conversions work, I'm new to this. Thanks a lot <3 #swe #twitter #facebook #internship
As a company, Twitter hasnโt really innovated since the last few years now. Their business line is pretty linear and 1-dimensional Probably have more variability with Facebook - VR, gaming, social media, video calling, messaging, etc etc. A better playground to start your career.
Agreed (๐๐ผ)
with what sorry?
Isn't there a lot of new investment and features coming though?
You come to blind worrying if getting an internship at FB and Twitter is flexing ๐ ah you sweet summer child. Also from what I know, neither FB nor Twitter hire new grad into the Toronto office externally. Generally for Toronto, you should expect 150k+ for a top tech new grad offer.
woah really? thanks a lot for the information, that's really good to hear! facebook just recently announced WFH from canada being allowed, so i wasn't sure how the pay might be. if they use old market data it can definitely be lower, so i really hope it'll be 150k+ because salaries are pretty low here in canada :/ honestly i find it kind of flexxy/annoying when people post on linkedin "hey everyone im so excited to announce ive accepted facebook summer and google fall and apple winter!" just so cringe like ok bro we get it LOL so i didn't wanna come off that way :) thanks for the help, appreciate it. if you don't mind me asking, are you in Google Canada? i've been wondering how to make my profile stand out to Google because I haven't had success, do you have any advice by chance haha
I doubt itโll be any lower because Amazon and a few others pay 150k new grad initial offer. No need to worry about flexing here, until you hit about 1 mil+ annual income. Like this guy: https://us.teamblind.com/s/Hu5xOmbk Also, donโt come to Google Canada. The pay is way better at FB and Twitter in Toronto.

Is "From the River to the Sea" So Wrong?
Can you do a fall/winter internship so you can do both and delay graduation? You can get both return offers
This would be nice since you can use them to negotiate the offers up
trying to figure out if that's possible actually :) so basically, i go to an internship university and I'm actually doing facebook during fall 2021, and then graduating a term later, april 2022 so im trying to figure out if twitter would allow me to do summer 2022 internship, but not sure if it's possible / worth it! but yeah i think the value of getting both offers to negotiate would be useful... hmm anyway, thanks for the input! really appreciate it <3
