State the estimated CUMULATIVE percentage of SWE's within your visibility at your company who are at the office >40 hours per week, >45 hours per week, and >50 hours per week. Then share the standard number of annual paid vacation days. I'll start. At Bloomberg: >40: 20-25%, and mostly only by choice >45: 5-10% >50: <5% Annual paid vacation days: 20 EDIT: see comment below clarifying cumulative vs non-cumulative percentages
>50: 60% (new hires, infra, Greenfield) >40: 30% >60: 10% Annual: 21 days
Insane hours.
>30: 95% >40: 5%
Why I love MSFT and never leaving.
> 40: 30%? > 45: 20%? > 50: 10%? unlimited infinity / infinity = ? biased cuz i work closely with ads and ads gets relatively crazy
It seems like some of you posted cumulative hours, and some posted range-based hours. Please update your posts to clarify if the hours are cumulative or range-based, to make sure we're comparing the same numbers. For example: >40: 20% >45: 10% >50: <5% Means that the 20% who work >40 hours also includes those who work >45 and >50 hours. It does not mean that 20% work 40-45 hours and 10% work 45-50 hours.
why the fuck would you do this instead of partitioned buckets / a normal histogram?
Could do it that way. I did it this way because writing out 40-45 etc requires more typing and I thought it was obvious For the math illiterate, >40 includes 50
Anyway clarifying whether the hours you posted are range-based or cumulative is also fine
Bloomberg starts you out with 20? And what about sick time?
Yes, it does. Sick time is separate
