I guess you're right, if someone really doesn't care about TC much at all and is getting away with working only 1-2 hours a day, I can see them having good reason to stick to that job.
As for disliking corporate, I was one of those people up until recently. I didn't like anything that was too established, big and corporate. I've only worked at startups my whole career.
But now I'm starting to realize there's a benefit that comes with the stability of big tech and on average I bet they have much better WLB. Especially now that the tech bubble is sort of bursting and all these highly inflated stocks are crashing back to reality.
Also it depends on your definition of FANG. Traditionally it just meant the big 4/5. But a lot of people use the term to refer to big tech in general. And I'd very much consider Coinbase to be a big tech company at this point.
I had more fun at startups than Amazon and Facebook, and would avoid Google after friends’ bad experiences there.
