SWE to UX Design

What is the best way to go from swe to ux design? I've started to learn sketch/Invision and reading more about design principles. Is there a "cracking the coding interview" for UX/product design or good resources?

Iโ€™m probably old fashioned but itโ€™s going to take a LOT of work to learn design. I donโ€™t think I was a good designer until I was 5+ years out of college which was 7+ years into my career . . . And you canโ€™t teach taste.

Developing a sense of aesthetics is possible but like everything, itโ€™ll take a lot of work. Just curious, why switch from SWE to UX?
