Been on team and company 4 years. I am thinking of taking a year off working internationally in an unrelated role, then coming back to the tech scene. I've done well, gotten promotions, and taken on leadership. I have had managers offer, without asking, to be a reference before they left their role. I'm an IC in a non technical role at abt 150 TC. Typically, when recruiters reach out for the same job its usually for 200k-225k TC. Is it difficult to get a placement with a year gap in resume? Any considerations I should make to set this up for success? If performance decreases as I figure this out, how would you discuss that in an interview?
Just justify by saying you took a year off for intellectual growth. There are people who took years off to pursue startups unrelated to their career and they came back just fine
Go for it! I've never understood the mentality that you have to be on the treadmill every month of your life! Likely you'd be fine at the end, and you'll never know what you'd experience in that year unless you take the leap. Good luck with the personal growth!

Biden ruined America and tech! Tax plans are insane
Sounds quite risky and borderline dumb. But If you aren’t happy then move one. Needing a 1 year sabbatical after 4 years seems a bit weak minded to me
