Here is a very interesting article about compensation and location, check it out and comment. Happy New Year!!! https://www.citylab.com/life/2019/09/cost-of-living-best-worst-cities-housing-adjusted-salaries/597376/
Interesting article. Thanks for sharing.
These articles never include equity or bonus comp, meaningless info
Most good firms offer bonus, comp, etc. So it’s basically apples to apples—aka 2.3% meaningless info, lol.
This is so stupid on blind. Household income is over $500k in NYC. Please tell me what the best salary I can get in Laredo, TX is. Housing here is more expensive but I still come out WAY ahead. Not to mention the horrible impact to quality of life for me and what I care about were I to move my family to some backwater village in Texas.
Always hate these articles. They always seem to be written by people who are just using statistics and not actual first hand experience of how living in some of those cities is. There are a few that are actually nice places to live like Charlotte but some of the cities are shit holes that I wouldn’t touch with a 10ft pole no matter how much my adjusted salary is. I remember one had my hometown on it and I LOL’d. Of course the jobs are plentiful there and the real estate cheap...because NO ONE WANTS TO LIVE THERE 😂. Everyone that actually lived there knew to quit their job and leave as quickly as financially possible, yet it would make these “lists” 😂
This is what you get when bean counters write COL articles.
