Salaries for Mechanical Engineer lll (senior) at Applied Materials in Bay area, California?? current TC: 137.5k YOE: 6 #hardware #engineer
TC or GTFO
I believe it's level E3 so it's 115k base + 10k signing + 6k RSU over 4 years + ~8k annual bonus. Something like that.
Is that $6k worth rsu per year for 4 years ?
No, it's actually vested over 4 years. I know.
Depends on the number of years in experience as well. NCG - ~110k + 17k relocation + 8k RSU over 4 years + ~10% annual bonus. With 2+ years, base can be ~115-120k
Mind u that 120k is slightly above poverty income in bay area.. your salary raises are between 1-2% with grueling hours to work in semi industry.. so brace for a storm in work life balance if u joining applied or semi industry.. if u relocating from somewhere else consider other offers outside bay area for a mechanical engg role before u take a dive to come in bay area.. good luck and god speed
Why not push for consumer hardware like Apple if you're working so much? You'll get way better TC
I agree.. its slightly better with a trade off to travel 40-50 percent of your time..
Another thing .. weekend work is normal in semi for mechanical and process folks
Actually it depends on which division/product. If you work on new (1st generation) products, then there is no work life balance. If you work on mature products, then work life balance will be okay.
Agree but i guess thats something op would not know until he joins and finds out :p
Thank you for all your responses
That seems similar to LM. I am also 6YOE
6 YOE is about 150K. However, this depends on your level.
TC?
