I'm interviewing for Senior Product Manager roles in Dubai. I have about 6 years of product experience and 3 years of engineering experience for a total of 9. I've only worked in startups and some of them with brand and unicorn statuses FWIW. What I've realised during salary discussions is that not a single company is willing to go beyond 35k AED PER MONTH. Mostly it's around 30k. Careem is an exception willing to pay 35k. Has the offer range in Dubai actually gone down in the last couple of years? Anecdotally, on Reddit, quora etc I keep saying people quote absurd salaries around 50k AED per month for mid level roles with 5-6 years of engineering experience. Have things changed a lot these days and have salaries undergone correction?
Keep in mind UAE has no income taxes
So what percentage of a paycheck goes into your pocket?
They have sales tax, so I imagine somewhere around 90-95%
If the offer is 35k aed then that's what goes into your bank account
I almost took a job with the UAE sovereign wealth fund. Keep in mind that you’ll be making enough to pay taxes on your earnings as a US citizen.
I think the first 100k or so are tax free
Feel free to DM me for info
Could you please provide me with a referral for Careem ?
Sure DM me
Are you a US citizen? I believe they have different salary bands per nationality
Wow that’s horrible. Bands should be on skills not where your coming from.
Nope. For e.g. friend of mine with Indian passport was a DBA there and said his coworker from the west was earning 2x for exact same position. This is how they attract expacts from US, Canada and the UK otherwise no one would have incentive to move there
