110k in Midwest and 200k in valley should I move?
Yeah, nope. Go for quality of life.
Move! 200k will more than make up for COL difference
Are you renting right now, if so how much is that? If you don't plan to stay and will rent, then do a quick call and see if you'll save more in Bay area
850$ (1050 with all bills) rent for 2 bedrooms in a decent neighborhood
How is dating life
Bay area for 2 bedrooms will be ~$3k
You'll have an extra $5k or so a month. Apples to apples housing price differences will eat about half of that, assuming you're ok with sticking with renting an apartment. Buying in the Bay may be permanently out of reach, but you probably could where you are now.
Midwest is a large region with a wide range of taxes and col numbers.
St.louis to be specific
If you're single, it makes sense to move imo
The 200K is base salary right? If so then heck yeah, move. The extra 90K will significantly exceed the difference in cost of living.
yes. much more opportunity here. save up money and then retire in low CoL area
