Salary expectations (Apple)

Aug 14, 2018 17 Comments

I have been contacted by Apple recruiter to provide salary expectations. The interviews went very well (if it matters). I have MS degree with 5 years of total industrial experience (3 years relevant). The position is for hardware engineering. I will also have a competing offer from Nvidia within a week.

Any ideas about good salary ranges (TC) in bay area?

Looks like upper-middle of the ICT4 range, which is good. Lot's of people come in at ICT3 and get stuck there. Sign on is low, so you could try to negotiate on that. Unless you have a better offer, or you're the team's dream candidate, you probably won't get much traction negotiating the other numbers.

Thanks! Not sure if I am a dream candidate, and I am not trying to be greedy here, but relocating to the Bay Area is expensive, so just try to see if I can ask for more to make the decision easier.

176 base 200k rsu for 3 years experience is 'very low'? Seriously?

Even so, it's too high. That's about 15-20 yoe pay

Are you all Apple veteran? Which part is too high? Just making assumption based on your name, is TC the same between TX and NorCal?
I have heard of higher sign on but I do need to relocate, it that the reason they give less?
