300 plus

MindTree ct91da Jan 8, 2020

Following this logic, is 300 in Dallas = 600 in Cali? 300 plus is way off. Theres many high paying jobs in DFW

MedeAnalytics jefjeez Jan 8, 2020

First try to get the 600k offer jackass.. there are not even 25% of the companies that pay you more than 100k in Dallas

300+

Lol, GTFO with these 300k numbers. 200 at most.

Sorry for your loss

Really? Just 50k more. I think 30-40k out of that will be gone in rent and tax. Only 10-20k for living in San jose compared to Dallas?

Yes. Other than rent, everything else (food, entertainment, clothing etc.) is pretty much the same price in any major US city.

Idk man I think food is typically more expensive here. I pay 5$ for a coffee here and 3$ back home. Also services like Uber definitely seem more expensive here

Yo. This is my analysis. if you want to get same take home in california .. your salary should be 175K then if you want to live exact same life style in california ... then california rent = texas rent + 3k (assuming you are in rental home) 3k * 12 = 36K per annum rent 175K + 36k (excluding taxes) = 175k + 60k (including taxes) = 235k remaining almomst same in both california and texas ... but lets add 5k for safe side ... so 150k in dalls is aproximately 240K in california as per my analysis

Oracle eMrQ54 Jan 9, 2020

But people don’t lead exact same life style in california as we did jn Texas . The above analysis is only for the people to lead same life style.

Amazon okiwildoit Jan 9, 2020

0% state tax vs 10% avg or more in CA . Don’t forget . I have lived in both places and 300K or below is poverty

Oracle eMrQ54 Jan 9, 2020

How come it’s below poverty. As per above comment 250k is almost equal to 150k in texas. 150k in texas has very good life style. What did I miss in my earlier comment ?

Amazon okiwildoit Jan 9, 2020

Don’t take it personally 😂

Amazon AMZN23 OP Jan 9, 2020

So, according to you what does 150k maps to in order to have the same lifestyle and may be same or more savings?

Amazon okiwildoit Jan 9, 2020

I will go with 300K figure !! Do you own a house and want to own a decent one in Bay Area ? Then minimum 300 or more . If you want to buy a broken house then less . If you want to have room mates then less . It’s subjective to life style . If you want to drive 2 hours one way then less !! Long list! But a median will be 300

Amazon AMZN23 OP Jan 9, 2020

Makes sense. I will probably be in 1/2 Bed apartment, living in San Jose Downtown.

ARM QkzO42 Jan 9, 2020

If you are willing to downgrade housing, 150K@Dallas == 250K@SJ. Not having kids means you will have more flexibility to choose where to rent. But keep in mind that *everything* is more expensive here (e.g. insurance, restaurants, etc).
