I've been in Sales for about 15 years now. I have a B.S. in Business Management degree. I'm currently in B2B Distribution Sales (mostly Inside) and I made $205k last year. I'm looking to switc to a new Industry or new Sales position and make more money. Any advice on what positions, Industry, etc. to pursue based on my experience and college degree?
What company do you work for and what do you sell?
I work for a Distribution company and we sell electronic components to the Manufacturing industry.
How did you get into the field? I've sold cars and cell phones, think I could keep up/even qualify?
Enterprise SaaS, things like sales force, cloud, analytics.. keep in mind that it’s getting more and more competitive and these SV companies demand a big ramp up quickly.

Anything in tech. As an associate sales engineer we did 150. As a level 3 you’re at where you’re at now - if you’re actually the sales rep you can be at 300-400k at most good tech companies if you make your number.
Do you have any suggestions aside from Software sales in the tech. Industry?
I was in networking hardware immediately after college for five years, and transitioned to Salesforce with some teammates. Basically an immediate 30% promotion. Look for growth phase software
