I am a MTS at Salesforce. I have been offered level 60 at Microsoft. Is it worth joining?
Focus on the career prospects and compensation Instead of focusing on designation

I've worked at both companies. Left Microsoft 5 years ago. Based on blind there seems to be some recent title inflation there. That said, in my experience Salesforce has more inflation. The chart above is way off imo. Salesforce principal was <= Microsoft principal. I moved from MSFT 61 to Salesforce Senior (granted I was offered 62 when I resigned).
Yeah that’s very true. It’s very important from my perspective to look into the level I’m being hired into. From what you have shared I should be joining at level 61 atleast.
Based on my experience 60 is about right. Promotions at Salesforce are way easier than Msft. Mts is one level above new grad and so is 60. New grads join at 59 at Msft (except PhD maybe)
However if you're near a promo and performing at smts then shoot for 61
Many solid engineers never get past 62. 61 is not a bad place to come in. If they give you the BS about coming in one level lower in order to succeed, don't believe it.
Don’t join below the level you want. That’s the same crap every company comes up with these days. The fucking HR tells you they don’t hire anyone at a certain position, you need to grow into that at the company. Total Bullshit. If they want you, they will hire you at the level you ask or they don’t think you deserve that position. you should walk if they low ball you.
Don't know what an MTS is. 60 is junior / new hire w adv degree level.
