Got 3 hour hackerrank from salesforce. Has anybody given the test? Any pointers will help
I fucking HATE hackerrank. Both Twitter and Palantir sent me those three hour things and I didn't even bother to do them. If you're going to make me write code for three hours, at least give me an engineer of yours to talk to or a real problem to do.
I also agree with OP of the comment. Me not wanting to spend 3 hours doing a random coding question is not arrogance it just means I have better things to do.
I don't think it's arrogant at all. Unless it's for a new grad position, no professional has time for a 3-hr hackerrank test unless they're desperate. It's not like it's an assignment that you'll get to discuss later on with an engineer.
3 hrs? What would the onsite be?
Yes, those long take-home assignments suck! Even worse, I had a friend who completed a 4 hour assignment for Tesla to never hear back from them.
I would gladly do a 3 or 4 hour assignment, especially if it sends a good impression of my work ethic. You pussies, what the fuck else do you have that you couldn't invest the time?
My self respect
+1000. Why do people expect companies to offer fat compensation packages without doing their due diligence/evaluation. A 3 hr take home programming assignment is great if that lets you/company focus on design and other aspects during an on-site. The take home yet does a much better job of simulating real world programming conditions than a white board session.
Ain't nobody got time for that.
It could be a dependency manager type of project (write code to install a component and all dependent components, uninstall logic) Usually checks your use of collection, recursion, DFS

How was the test? Any pointers ?
Can you share the test details, I am also having 3 hr HackerRank test
How was it?
