Just interviewed for salesforce Lmts. Wanted to get some more insights from sales force folks. 1. What’s the work from home policy ? 2. How is work life balance in tableau crm org. 3. How difficult is it to move internally in salesforce if I don’t like the team ? 4. What are the expectations from a LMTS ? Job description is very generic and can be held against any software engineer position. 5. If I do end up getting an offer. Not having a counter will hurt my chances to get top dollar . So can I negotiate as per market and ask for an extension to finish rest of the interviews. Problem is, all my interviews are in 2nd week of dec. Not sure they will wait that long. Current TC: 260 ( L62 ) #salesforce #amazon #microsoft
We just had someone transfer to our team. Our manager had a casual chat with them.
I am an LMTS. The expectations of me are no greater than for the interns in my team. I get paid a great deal more for pretty much identical work. Internal moves are all but impossible if you're outside the US or India. If you're in either of those places, you can move pretty easily with 12 months in your role.
Got it. Then you can focus on what you like :).
It’s a well known fact for salesforce that expectation and work wise, PMTS ~ AMTS, both are almost equal.
@op which team is this for? I am in the same boat
What’s the LMTS offer like?
300 seems to be median ( ~320 for recent offer ). Seen some posts with 380-400
I’ve seen LMTS offers for Seattle go very close to 400. Bay Area would be another 20-40k more I guess
Interesting and useful post. I’m in the negotiation side, was interviewed for PMTS, they want to offer “high LMTS”. Rational is I have a lot of domain experience, but recently light on specific deployment, running, etc of services in the domain. There are some pending questions I still have with the organization. That I’ll have more info on next week. The team members I talked to have shown a good deal of upward velocity. The recruiter started asking about compensation the other day. Would not give a range, but when I pointed out there are differences between the two levels, it seems like there is room for negotiation. Some questions: - At Microsoft, the “annual bonus percentage” is applied separately to stock grant and cash bonus. Does SF do this? - I’m different posts here, it seems like refreshers are highly dependent, not guaranteed. Is there any pattern to such? - LMTS IC vs LMTS tech lead responsibilities, what are the differences? - With regard to work from home, i suspect it is team dependent. If there was a reorg, hypothetical, has their been a culture where a new person in the management chain changes policy/existing agreements? - I have existing offers at in process for a few others. Some large, some small companies. If other questions line up, is throwing out a high ball - I’d sign now for these numbers - something they would balk at?
There are pay bands but recent offer have been paid a lot as per levels.fyi. lmts bonus is 15% of base salary paid in 2 installments. Refreshers are performance based but consider yourself very luck if you get one. Only top performers get refreshers and by top performers we don't mean someone who works on maximum tickets. So basically it's not in your hands even if you are good. Lmts ic vs lmts tech lead you should ask the role and responsibility to hiring manager again though there is no difference. If the new manager decides no work from home you can switch teams but taking away remote option seems highly unlikely. How many years of experience do you have?
YoE - 20ish This was one of the first interviews I had done in awhile and hadn’t prepped fully. My current role isn’t particularly challenging, but allows an insane WLB and flexibility. Comp is one part of a whole.
@abhrk OP may I now splits of lmts offer you got..? I am in the same boat
Hey , I have an interview scheduled for LMTS , Can I please dm you for your interview experience. It will be a huge help TIA

1) depends on the team but you should ask your manager before joining. Nothing wrong in asking. 2) depends on the team 3)after your first year you can easily move. I have heard people moving earlier than that. 4) depends on the team. Lmts in most teams are just like Sr devs in any company. Just s fancy tittle. Ask your hiring manager 5) you can take the offer and resign after you get another offer if you get another offer quickly.
When moving internally, do we interview again ? Also, wanted to avoid starting process to onboard/ join the company and resign. But I guess what you are saying makes sense
The internal move interview depends on the team. Some teams that have lot of candidates to choose from will conduct full loop while lot of teams just do general chit chat and some easy technical interviews.
