Lucky to have 2 offers so far. Current TC ~160k YOE 2 Salesforce - Bellevue - Security Infrastructure (Software Defined Security) MTS - Base 148k, stock 75k, %10 bonus TC ~ 184k Amazon - Seattle - Retail Team SDE2 - Base 150, 64 RSUs, sign on 50k year one 36k year two. TC ~ 203k Haven't negotiated yet. How likely is Salesforce to match? Which should I take?
No need to compare, take whoever pays the most. Greedy algorithm.
$19k isn’t a life changer but wlb is
Salesforce. There’s no question here.
203 for amazon in Seattle sde2 is low 19k ain’t that big of a difference but let’s say 60? Unless you did pretty mediocre - that offer can be pushed up.
That's the initial offer. Recruiter basically said they are open to negotiation.
It’s low 240-250 tc without competing offers should be doable for good interview
SDE2 is probably SMTS at Salesforce. New grads come in as AMTS or MTS if you are a Masters student. That apart, great offers! Salesforce should match the competing offer.
Wonder if I can convince them to bring me in as an SMTS?
I am not sure if they'll do that now but you can try asking.
Im not sure about salesforce, but Amazon has an exploitable system where bad managers can destroy you without accountability. If you get onto a good team at Amazon - and there are many - its a good place to work. If you get on a bad team, or don’t know the depth of the political games your manager plays, you will be screwed.
How big is the sf office in Bellevue? Do you care that for Amazon you'll be at the headquarters? For some people that makes a difference too
Yeah it doesn't really matter to me.
Go with amazon and come back to salesforce after few years. Amazon is definitely a good thing on resume! It will increase your market value.
Yeah but isn't Salesforce a good name as well? I heard Salesforce is a bit more difficult to get into
Think there are room for more stocks in salesforce
There are some great people on the sec infra team at sfdc. You can definitely negotiate with Salesforce to match. (Never take the first offer you get) My opinion is biased, but I’ve heard Amazon WLB doesn’t exist. I would negotiate with sfdc for more and take the offer.
Thanks. I'm leaning towards SF because of how well they treat their employees.
Sure ... it’s just a company with over 700k people. Wlb is the same everywhere ...
