Does salesforce reduce pay if you start in sf office and move elsewhere to another state
Yes. There’s an adjustment as part of transferring to a different location. You don’t get to make SF salary and live in the middle of nowhere, Kansas.
Basically you keep the same salary but won’t get much/any raises since you’ll be above the band.
This ^
Not true. Salary gets cut 20% most places, even in high cost regions.
Yeah I keep getting conflicting information, wondering about moving within the state california, I would imagine its tough to determine living cost/pay per region so would probably stay the same
I was based in San Francisco while working temporary remote in Hawaii but needed to switch to permanent remote to have access to local health care. My pay was then cut 20%. My expenses went up 30%. I can’t get any explanation for why Hawaii pay would be so drastically lower than say Buffalo New York. Their current geo-pay bands make no sense yet they have no near-term plans to fix them so I am looking.

Worried that our top performer is an attrition risk. How do managers handle this?
Yup, SF cost of living is more.
